After 1,000 plus miles of bluebonnet searching, we decided that Willow City Loop in Fredericksburg was the most scenic drive. The meadow in my last blog post was incredible and I have an upcoming post that has stunning wildflowers.
Directions from Fredericksburg:
Head north on State Route 16 for approximately 13 miles to Willow City, go east on Ranch Road 1323 for nearly 3 miles, then turn left onto Willow City Loop.

Thank you, Liz! I am not sure what the orange-red flowers are. I love taking photos of flowers but not to good at identifying them….
Liz, your question made me wonder…..the red/orange flower may be Castilleja, commonly known as Indian paintbrush or prairie-fire.
