I am thrilled to announce the publication of my newest pattern, Kaleidoscope Flower Garden. Creating this quilt and watching the dancing kaleidoscopes come to life as they waltz across the quilt top was so much fun! I love the traditional Bear Paw quilt block. I designed the flower on this block with inspiration from the Bear Paw block. After creating my quilted couch, I wanted to design a quilt pattern with the same block, available in wall hanging and all bed sizes.
This winter has been a cold one. We recently experienced -11 chill factor one night and -21 chill factor on another night. It is currently two degrees in our neck of the woods of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. For your enjoyment, here are some snowy mountain views taken outside our windows. If I were so inclined, I could venture out and get some spectacular mountain view photos, but that’s not going to happen today.
I thoroughly enjoyed attending a basket weaving convention on the East Coast. There were teachers from across the United States and many students who gathered for this event. I took two classes on pine needle baskets (one was a piece of jewelry and the other was a beautiful piece of pottery that we wove a pine needle top for), an antler basket/bowl class that I have wanted to take for quite a while and a cute little pedestal basket that holds a plate.
My friend met me from Maryland and she turned the motel room into a quilting studio. She accomplished a lot. It was nice to catch up and get to visit with her.
